Ode to My Sweater

In winter
we are attached
like two peas in a pod
You never let me down
You keep me warmer than the sun

You are abused constantly
You are lost and thrown around
torn, crushed like a damaged can
You stay on a hnger
Waiting patiently
To be noticed
But you never leave me

Many others are like you
But you are mine
which makes you special
You are one in a kind

Everyday
I hold you in my arms
as we embrace
and stay together
side by side
forever

Her & Him

 Her
I walked down a smooth, short, spacious street
The wind above me goes whoosh, whoosh
I was looking for a purpose, but I found a soulmate instead
Handsome, hardworking, happy: him
He's so scorching he could burn the sun
Him
Zoom, zoom my engine goes
I'm about to leave this town, until I look out the window
I've finally found what I've been looking for
Honest, hopeful, hilarious: her
She's so beautiful supermodels would be jealous
 Her
I have met him before, I'm sure
Him
She always appears in my dreams
Her
I want to know if he is the one
Him
I need to go after her before it's too late
Her
Excuse me sir, I say
Him
Come with me, I respond
Her
Definitely, I whisper

Blog Post # 10: 2 in 1

No, I don't think general ed and special ed should be combined in the same classroom. Both types of students are learning different things and have different needs. Combining the two would be chaotic.Special ed students may be distracting to general ed students who are learning subjects on their grade level. Some general ed students may be not tolerant with special ed students and may be irritating. Plus, special ed students shouldn't be cramped in a small room, they should have a wide open space. You can't learn how to cook and clean with many other students in the way. How could the general ed students concentrate with all the tasty food? The separation of general ed and special ed students doesn't seem to have any problems, so why change it?

Tutoring

Today, I got the opportunity to help special ed students. At first I was nervous because I have never worked with mentally handicapped students before, so I was almost going to back out. Throughout the experience, I observed that these kids are just like us, with similar likes and dislikes and having normal conversations. I actually talked to a student who watched Glee, just like me! Also, the cinnamon rolls were delicious. I can't cook, so I thought is was really cool that the kids helped bake them.I would definitely like to do this again. Doing this made me realize that I should be grateful for what I have, because even though I have my own problems, there are many that have it worse.

It also made my appreciate all of Mrs. Hine's work, because it must be hard managing all of them, even though there aren't very many of them. I am unsure of what career I want to pursue, and I think working with kids is now a possibility. In the end, I was actually sad to leave. I liked how the student I was talking to remembered my name, because most people I talk to for the first time forget.

This ad claims that Proactiv can get rid of your acne. It uses pathos because the woman in the ad is smiling, so she's obviously happy that Proactiv worked for her. Ethos is used with the quote, using it to prove that she is a reliable source. Also, Proactiv uses a "big name", Julianne Hough, who is an actress, singer, and dancer. Kairos is used because the ad creates a sense of urgency with save 50%, a 30 day supply for $19.95, free shipping, and three free gifts. The ad uses logos with #1 acne treatment system, guaranteed to work, and developed by dermatologists. There is a lot of research used towards the bottom of the ad.

New Year's Resolution/2nd Semester Goals

Every year, I make many New Years Resolutions. I always tell myself that in the upcoming year, I will change myself for the better. Most of the time, those resolutions never happen because I do not make the effort and am usually too lazy. I convince myself that I don't need to change myself because I am already amazing. So, here are my 2014 resolutions, which are usually the same every year. I want to eat healthier and exercise more because I am getting out of shape. I should procrastinate less, because I hate not going to bed because I am stalling on something I should've done earlier. I would watch less TV, because I usually watch instead of being productive. Same goes for going on the internet and playing with my iPod, because usually those make my head hurt.
Now onto my second semester goals, which are very similar to my resolutions. I want to maintain my good grades, especially in WHAP. I want to read the WHAP book more often so I can retain the information, but not all of my goals are centered around WHAP. In general, I want to ask my teachers more questions when I don't understand the topic. I am too embarrassed to raise my hand, especially since the rest of the students seem to understand.
